The popularity of Pick-up points has quadrupled, home delivery is on the decline

According to the annual GLS survey, almost half of respondents (46%) use independent Pick-up point networks to deliver their parcels. Parcel Shops are also popular, with more than a third of online shoppers choosing them. Interest in home delivery has dropped by a quarter, it is used by recipients from more remote areas and for heavier parcels.

The trend of working from home is weakening, and it is much more convenient for people commuting to pick up their parcel at a Pick-up point. The main reason for using Pick-up points is that people do not have to be dependent on a courier, they save on shipping and it is more convenient for them.

The award in the category of the Best Small Depot 2022 goes to the depot in Uheské Hradiště, congratulations!

"My thanks go to GLS, which gaves me the opportunity to do business in logistics," says Roman Tureček, the owner of the depot in Uherské Hradiště. Almost 14 years ago, he started in GLS as a courier and gradually worked his way up to the owner of his own depot.

Thanks to a stabilized team of couriers and an effort to create an open family atmosphere, Roman and his team took third place in the category of the Best Small Depot for 2022. Congratulations to the whole depot and thank you for the work done.

We have prepared a new tool for you, which you will be happy to welcome and quickly fall in love with. When creating an order or just a quick non-binding price here, a yellow sticker (Stickies) appears on the right side of the screen, which serves for quick information about the final price of transport. The price includes fuel and toll charges and VAT.
